- かのうほうがい【狩野芳崖】(1828-1888) 日本画家。 長門国の生まれ。 江戸に出て狩野勝川に師事， 橋本雅邦とともにその英才を謳(ウタ)われる。 従来の狩野派の筆法に西洋画の画法を取り入れ， フェノロサ・岡倉天心の日本画革新運動に加わり， 新しい日本画の領域を開拓。 東京美術学校創立の準備中病死。 代表作「大鷲」「悲母観音像」など。
